Flat abs ~Weee-U-weet!

That day in the train, I met a girl in her late teens with absolutely flat abs – those that everyone would die for. She was wearing a midriff with low hippy jeans and was obviously flaunting one of her best assets. It’s one of those perfect abs, flat in the middle, and abit bony at the sides slightly below the waist. My eyes were practically fixed on her well-toned, super flat abs as she moved into the train and found herself a seat. Even when she was sitting down, oh mi god, her abs was still flat! What is this, man??!!! Doesn’t she have any internal organs??!

Flat abs is something I wanna have, but don't seem to be able to have. I'm quite ashamed to confess that I've a small little hump in place of where the flat abs should be. But I'm also quite convinced that it is something that I'm born with, or genetically inherited. I mean my dad has a bigger hump. And many of my uncles and aunties from his side too. So it’s got to be inherited from my dad’s side. Even for the super-abs girl I met on train, I believe it’s all in her genes.

It’s not as if I’ve never done anything before to remove it. I’ve tried doing crunches, the very first thing recommended by everyone and anyone you can ask. I’ve tried doing sit-ups, jogging and yoga. None has worked. Ok, maybe I wasn’t consistent and patient enough to wait for significant results to appear before I stop. But the weirdest thing is that when I did crunches/ sit-ups, my tummy muscles didn’t ache at all. In fact my thighs and neck were aching like mad. For a day of work-out, I received 2-3 days of aching at all the wrong places in return. So it’s reasonable that I stop doing it since it’s not achieving what I wanted and creating unnecessary suffering. Moreover I’m dealing with something that is to do with the natural genes, so trying to remove it is almost the same as asking a hyperactive 5-year-old boy to sit still. It can be so disheartening and frustrating. Sometimes I really feel like poking a metal straw into my tummy to drain all the fats out around the area.

My boyfriend is the least convinced each time I mention that I’m getting rid of it for good so that I can look good in bikinis or have no restrictions in the type of clothes I can carry off. Before this, he used to be the most encouraging person I can ever ask for. Probably maybe after a few failed attempts, he’s so convinced too it’s genetically inherited that he believes there’s nothing I can do about it.

I’ve ever asked him on what he thinks about me not having flat abs.

Me: Darling, darling if there’s ever a choice you can make, everything else being constant, would you prefer me with flat abs or the current me?

Boyfriend: hmmmmm… everything else constant?

Me: Yes. Everything’s the same. Only the abs part.

Boyfriend: Of cos the flat abs you.

Me: huh?! You sure or not? Why?

Boyfriend: You ask me to choose wat…

*Long Silence*

Boyfriend: ok ok, I’ll choose the current you. The flat abs are nothing actually.
