Met up with a few friends for dinner at one of these al fresco restaurants tucked behind Killiney rd. Nice ambience but wrong weather. Was all hot and sticky by the time I was there. And it didn’t help to have those most dreaded cramps at the same time. Was damned frustrated throughout the whole meal. Then one of the friends asked what’s the occasion. Hello, do you need an occasion to meet up with friends for meals? Alrite, fine we’ll meet again when there’s an occasion then.

After dinner we went to some place to chill out and have some drinks. Met a friend whom I’ven’t seen for 4 years. We used to be uni classmates. The first thing he said was “hey, you put on weight.” :( Chatted abit, did some catch up and promised to meet up for lunch. The funny thing about being in the late twenties is that you can’t avoid the so when are you getting married? topic in your catching-up. And the conversation with this friend was no exception. I’m already so used to it that my reply is always almost automatic and immediate – Not in the near future, complete with a smile :) Before we parted, he did the six hand sign next to his ear gesturing to call him. I did back the same hand sign assuring him that I’ll call him. I was surprised that he could still remember my old home phone number although it was only the first 5 digits.

Somewhere in the middle of our drinks, a friend who’s working in Shanghai called to tell us he’ll be in town next week. Great, cos I missed the last meet-up session when he was in town then. So haven’t really gotten a chance to show my friend-ly concern over his new life over at Shanghai ever since he got based there. Alrite, will meet up next week then :)
